PracticeShadowing

Keep your goals to yourself Intermediate shadowing lesson

This is a short TED talk by Derek Sivers. He explains that when you tell other people your goal, you can feel as if you have already done it, so you are less likely to do the hard work. He speaks clearly and uses everyday phrases like For real and You've got to, which suits intermediate shadowing.

Practise it in the app

Free, no account needed. The app plays one sentence and waits for you to say it.

The sentences

  1. Everyone, please think of your biggest personal goal.

  2. For real -- you can take a second. You've got to feel this to learn it.

  3. Take a few seconds and think of your personal biggest goal, okay?

The video has 23 sentences. The rest are in the app. Practise them all
